HYDERABAD: TRS on Friday welcomed the Centre’s move to announce a Ryuthu Bandhu-like scheme in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, but it was more of a back-handed compliment.
“They say imitation is the best form of flattery,” former minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao tweeted and pointed out that the original Rythu Bandhu was an idea of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. “The name may have been changed by NDA govt but in spirit, it remains a trimmed version of Rythu Bandhu. Jai Kisan,” he tweeted.
Nizamabad MP and KCR’s daughter, Kavitha Kalvakuntla, while welcoming the benefit announced for farmers, said it needed refinement. “GOI introduces a bad copy of KCR’s Rythu Bandhu scheme. Telangana gives every farmer 5000/- per acre, twice a year. The central government scheme proposes to give Rs 6000/- per year in three instalments. Although needs refinement, it’s a welcome move by Narendra Modi ji,” she said in her tweet.
Meanwhile, MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi hailed KCR’s sagacity saying the interim budget was imitating Telangana CM’s plans.
