GURUGRAM: Four people have been booked for allegedly assaulting a man and robbing him of his mobile phone, cash and jewellery after offering him a lift in DLF 2 on Wednesday. The crime comes a day after the police busted a gang of car robbers.

Around 7.30 pm on Wednesday, Vijay Kumar Singh (29), a resident of Shakti Park colony, was looking out for transport to go home in DLF 2 when a car with four occupants stopped near him and offered a lift, police said.

Assuming it to be a shared cab, he boarded it. After covering some distance, the occupants robbed him at gunpoint. “They snatched his mobile, wallet and jewellery. They forced the victim to withdraw Rs 22,000 from an ATM. After taking the money, the accused dumped him near Badshahpur and sped off," the victim told police.

Singh lodged a complaint on Thursday, after which an FIR was registered against four accused under Section 379A (snatching) of IPC at DLF 2 police station.
