Three persons, including a newly-elected sarpanch, were injured in a minor clash between two groups at Mutyalampadu crossroads in Tekulapalli mandal on Saturday.
The incident occurred soon after the swearing in of the governing body of Mutyalampadu crossroads gram panchayat.
Sources said an altercation ensued between members of two groups — one owing allegiance to the TRS and another to Congress — on the main road near the school complex in the afternoon.
Newly elected sarpanch Maloth Surender, and his follower belonging to the Congress besides a middle-aged woman owing allegiance to the TRS reportedly sustained minor injuries in the melee, sources added.
Police brought the situation under control by dispersing both groups. Later, the two groups lodged complaints against each other with Tekulapalli police.
