50 stolen batteries seized from a 36-yr-old

PUNE: Officials from Chandan Nagar police station have arrested a 36-year-old man and claimed to have recovered 50 stolen batteries of vehicles and ATMs, totally worth Rs 2.65 lakh from his possession.

The arrested man has been identified as Bhagwan Vishwanath Sadar, a native of Akola district, who lived in Pimple Gurav. Police officials said that he would pose as a bank officer, used his daughter's school ID card, and enter the ATM centre. He would tell the security guard that he has come to replace the batteries and then decamp with unused batteries in autorickshaws.

Four such cases were registered with Chandan Nagar police station, which has been solved with his arrest.

Investigation team included PSI Shridhar Bhosale, Head Constable Rajendra Dixit, Panditrao Gawde, Naik Tushar Bhiwarkar, Shakur Pathan, and Constable Subhash Avhad.
