The Madras High Court on Thursday refused to injunct Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TNFPC) from conducting ‘Ilaiyaraaja 75,’ a concert organised by the council this weekend to generate funds. Justice K. Kalyanasundaram, however, directed the council to maintain proper accounts for the money spent on the event and submit them before its annual general body meet scheduled to be held on March 3.

The judge dismissed an application by J. Sathish Kumar, a member of the council, to injunct it from going ahead with the plans to conduct the concert.

The applicant accused the office-bearers of having decided to conduct the event despite knowing that it would not be profitable.
