Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday said many companies, including multi-national ones, committed to invest ₹3,00,413 crore at the recently concluded Global Investors Meet in Tamil Nadu because law and order was under control in the State.
Presenting the President of India Medal and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Medals to Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Fire and Rescue Services, Prison, Home Guards & Civil Defence and Forensic Sciences personnel in Chennai, he said the State government was progressing in the right direction of growth. The peaceful situation prevailing in Tamil Nadu had attracted investors.
“The modernisation of police force, enhancement of skills, providing latest equipment and other training programme to develop mental strength of police personnel have reduced caste, communal clashes, terrorism, religious fanaticism, the activities of fundamentalists, extremists and labour unrest substantially,” Mr. Palaniswami said.
CCTV coverage
Stating that the government had taken steps to install CCTV units in public places to enhance better crime prevention, the Chief Minister said so far 2,79,440 CCTV units had been installed.
Pointing out the implementation of the comprehensive well-being programme with the help of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bengaluru, Mr. Palaniswami said so far 20,000 police personnel and 22,000 family members participated in the programme.
