Bihar cabinet approves 10% quota for EWS, to be tabled in assembly soon

PATNA: The Bihar cabinet on Friday approved 10% reservation to the people from the economically weaker section. Sources said that it would be tabled before the assembly soon for making it a law.
The cabinet also approved to increase the monthly remuneration to the contractual doctors across state.
Now, the contractual veterinary doctors and regular MBBS or dentists would get Rs 65,000 per month as remuneration.
Earlier, they used to receive Rs 29,500 and Rs 44000 respectively as monthly remuneration.
Similarly, contractual doctors holding degree of MD or MS would receive Rs 82,000 as monthly remuneration instead of the present Rs 48,000. Super speciality doctors would receive Rs 89,000 per month from the state government. There were 567 regular, 339 dental and 43 doctors, holding degree of MD or MS in state.
The cabinet also approved to increase the daily allowances to ministers from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.
For furnishing houses, now a minister would get an allowance of Rs 6 lakh while a state minister would get Rs 5.75 lakh and deputy minsters would get Rs 5.5 lakh.
The cabinet also sanctioned Rs 176.18 crore for the construction and development of zoo safari at Nalanda.
It also gave administrative nod for construction of two auditoriums with seating capacity of 2,000 each at Bettiah and Motihari.
