The film under review is an urban crime drama written, directed, and edited by self-taught Vikkramm Chandirramani, whose previous film, romcom “Destiny” crossed 4 million views on YouTube and won several awards.
As stories go, the plot of his new short is the sort you would find in a good crime novel. Bookworms though may find the characters a tad stereotyped: the wealthy harridan wife (Samvedna Suwalka) the poor philandering hubby (Rohan Gandotra) and the skin-baring Other Woman (Niharica Raizada) who demands marriage.
What makes the film well worth a dekko is the acting, the economy of images, the tight editing and the adroitly executed twist in the ending. The only other bit of (excusable) self-indulgence is the shot of a book by the film-maker’s late father, the well-known journalist and author, Mohan Deep.
