All the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana welcomed the Union interim budget presented by incharge Finance Minister Piyush Goyal and said it reflected the resolve of the Narendra Modi government to take the country’s development into a rapid growth path.
At a press conference on Friday, party president K. Laxman, city chief N. Ramchander Rao, S. Malla Reddy and others thanked Mr. Modi for being instrumental in presenting a ideal budget where there was something for all sections of society especially the poor and people across the country were now ready to give him a second term.
Direct benefit transfer to the farmers, Income Tax extensions to benefit the middle class, pensions to the labour of the unorganised sector, more funds to the agriculture and defence sectors would benefit the masses across the country, they claimed.
These steps announced in the budget along with recently announced 10% quota for the economically weaker sections, more minimum support price for various crops and other measures were in the spirit of ‘development for all’ propagated by the Prime Minister, the leaders added.
Earlier, BJP leaders took out a protest rally at the Exhibition Grounds demanding the government to institute a judicial inquiry into the fire mishap which engulfed the All India Industrial Exhibition causing extensive loss to the shopkeepers. They demand strict action against those responsible for the ‘negligence’ which resulted in such a huge mishap.
