Lebese joins SuperSport on loan

2019-02-01 07:40

Cape Town - Absa Premiership outfit SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of midfielder George Lebese from Mamelodi Sundowns on a six-month loan deal.

The 29-year-old has been struggling to break into Pitso Mosimane's starting XI since joining the Chloorkop giants in 2017 from Kaizer Chiefs.

Lebese will be hoping to get enough game time under his belt before returning to Sundowns next season.

“I’ve noticed utterances in the media over the past few days about a certain players’ experiences at Mamelodi Sundowns, but I must say that my experience in dealing with them has been totally different," said the player’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik.

“In the past week I have engaged with Sundowns on two of my clients in varying circumstances; Anthony Laffor has extended his stay at the club, and George Lebese has been allowed to go on loan to one of the clubs main rivals in order to gain some much-needed game time.

Meanwhile, Anthony Laffor has penned a two-year contract extension with the Brazilians keeping him at the club until 2021.
