India will take on New Zealand and Bangladesh in its warm-up matches at the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England.
New Delhi:
India will face New Zealand on Saturday, May 25 at The Oval and take on Bangladesh on Tuesday, May 28 at the Cardiff Wales Stadium. Virat Kohli's men will begin their campaign in the tournament proper against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
India will be playing six more ODIs before the World Cup as the Asian giants will take on Australia at home after the end of the ongoing limited-overs tour of New Zealand.
As per previous ICC tournaments, warm-up fixtures will be 50 overs per side, but will not carry official ODI status, as teams can field all members of their 15-man squad during the match. "It is always a huge milestone announcing an exciting warm-up schedule for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup as it really highlights just how close we are to the action getting underway this summer," ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 Managing Director, Steve Elworthy, said.
All 10 teams competing at the showpiece event will play two warm-up matches before the tournament proper, starting May 30.
"The fixtures will be held over five days between 24-28 May, and will be hosted at four of the official CWC19 Tournament Venues; the Bristol County Ground, Cardiff Wales Stadium, Hampshire Bowl and The Oval," an ICC release read.
