Indore: Nearly 30 colleges under the umbrella of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya missed the deadline to apply online for affiliation within the prescribed time limit. “January 31 was deadline to apply for affiliation without late fee. Out of 200 private colleges, nearly 170 have applied,” said registrar Ajay Verma.
He stated that the rest would have to pay 50 per cent of affiliation cost which for applying late. “With fine the last date is February 15. Those who will not apply after February 15 also will be issued show cause notice,” he added. There are total 260 colleges under the DAVV. Of that 60 are government colleges who have permission to apply in offline mode. They also have liberty to apply till February end.
Verma said the government colleges would also be directed to apply online from next academic session. Process pre-poned Generally, the deadline to apply for affiliation was April 15 but this year the government advanced the deadline so that the university would award or deny affiliation to colleges before admission process commences.
For last many years, it was happening that the colleges had to be allowed to participate in online admission process conducted by department of higher education (DHE) as universities do not grant affiliation to them on time. “To change this, the process was advanced,” Verma said. The admission process will commence in May. The university would have to award or deny affiliation to the colleges before that.
