250 students taught job skills during fair in Sector 10 school

CHANDIGARH: In order to create awareness among students pursuing skill courses in government schools in the city, a job fair was conducted at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) in Sector 10. The fair was organised by the Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
A total of 250 students of Class XII from different schools in the city attended the fair. Companies such as AFV Hospitality, Park Plaza, Falcon Garden Tools and Exim Enterprises were roped in by Confederation of Indian Industry, so that the students can get more opportunities and gather experience.
As many as 150 students were shortlisted by these companies for internship. The students were given an opportunity to showcase their talent in their respective field. They were also guided on how to develop communication skills.
"It was a good experience, as I have attended the fair for the first time, a student said.
