Standing committee chairperson of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Veena Virmani, instructed officials to issue notices to dairy owners who have not started constructing on plots allotted to them at the Ghogha dairy.
The endeavor to shift illegal dairies in the city to this one location in north-west Delhi has been in the works since the High Court ordered the unified municipal corporation to do so in 2008.
Ms. Virmani issued the instructions during an inspection at the site on Thursday.
Ms Virmani said that doing so would force plot owners to move their dairies to Ghogha. Ms. Virmani also directed them to improve cleanliness in the area.
The chairperson also inspected the veterinary hospital in the area run by the Delhi government, which she said did not have stock of required medicines since the last one year.
Ms. Virmani also instructed officials to write to the government to inform it of the situation and make necessary arrangements.
