Finance Minister Piyush Goyal presented the interim budget 2019 today in Lok Sabha. He tried to lure all the sections of people, but the major highlight of the budget was tax rebate for individuals with income up to Rs 5 lakh, which mean no tax if you are earning Rs 5 lakh annually. However, Piyush Goyal’s budget speech is grabbing eyeballs, as he presented it in very different manner.
The finance minister, at the start of his speech, praised the current government, by using bombastic Hindi words. And as he continued he explained every point in Hindi and English, so all the people can understand it, it was a mix of Hinglish. His speech was full energy and drama. He even praised Bollywood movie Uri: The Surgical Strike, and said “I had the opportunity to watch the film … recently. ‘Kya josh tha, kya mahaul tha’ (the atmosphere there was great).”As Goyal spoke about the film, several BJP leaders including Paresh Rawal, who also featured in the military drama, thumped their desks in Parliament.

To pump more josh in his party leaders, Piyush Goyal recited a poetry which reads, ‘Mein Ek Paun Rakhta Hoon, Hazarein Rahein Phoot Padeti Hai’, with the poetry he attracted huge applause in the parliament. And even PM Modi, started banging his desk in josh.
Every time when the budget is presented, we see different avatars of our Finance Ministers. Earlier in 2016-17 budget session Arun Jaitley couldn’t stop his inner poet and recited an Urdu couplet.
Kashti chalaane walon ne jab haar kar di patwar hamein,
Lehar lehar toofan mile aur mauj mauj manjdhaar hamein.
Phir bhi dikhaya hai humne, aur phir yeh dikha denge sabko,
In halato mein aata hai daria karna paar humein.
The list is long, and almost all Finance Ministers have showcased their hidden talent which is reciting poetry in parliament.
