Will Brigham scored 24 points, 17 in the second half, as Tiverton clinched a Rhode Island boys' basketball Division II playoff berth by defeating Middletown 62-56 on Thursday night in Middletown, R.I.

Carson Hart and Timmy Levakis both scored 13 points for the Tigers (7-5) and Matt Gacioch added nine.

The score was 25-25 at halftime.

 

Girls' Track and Field

Somerset Berkley Regional 47, Wareham 29: At Greater New Bedford Regional's Z. Walter Janiak Fieldhouse, Corryn Fisher won the hurdles (10.4) and the 300 meters (49.9) for the Raiders in this South Coast Conference win.

SBR's other winners were Kathleen Martin (shot put, 31-7), McKenzie Offley (55 dash, 7.9) and Caitlin Lourenco (mile, 6:16.8). Second places were provided by Sarah Fitzgerald (shot put), Abigail Hines (high jump), Macy Paquin (hurdles) and Jordan Ramos (600, mile).

 

Boys' Track and Field

Somerset Berkley Regional 79, Wareham 6: At Greater New Bedford Regional's Z. Walter Janiak Fieldhouse in New Bedford, Mark Gagliardi (hurdles, 10.4; 1000, 2:58), Aiden Montag (2 miles, 11:30; mile, 5:23) and Grady LeMar (55 dash, 6.8; high jump, 5-4) were all double winners for the Raiders in this South Coast Conference win.

SBR's other event winners were Zack Reeve (300, 1:26), Shane Neto (shot put, 40-4) and the 4x400 team of Santiago Abril, LeMar, Derek Slack, and Neto (4:08). Seconds came from Conner Robidoux (2 miles), Michael Michno (55), Reeve (hurdles), Alex Rodrigues (600), Abril (1,000), Cam Almeida (300), Robidoux (mile), owen Santos (shot put) and Slack (high jump).
