Severe thunderstorms, with possible heavy downpours, hail and localised flooding are expected in places over the Central Karoo, northern interior of the Eastern Cape, south eastern parts of the Northern Cape and western parts of Free State.

According to the SA Weather Service, significant rainfall, leading to localised flooding, is expected in places over the southern West Coast District and Atlantis Region of the Cape Metropole late on Saturday morning, and in the afternoon going into the evening in the western Overberg District, Garden Route District of the Western Cape.

It will be very hot over the Central Karoo. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly south of Table Bay, otherwise northerly to north-westerly. 

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly. The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly, becoming north easterly towards the evening.

Expect partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions in KwaZulu-Natal, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly.
