Millennials' Drinking Habits Are Boosting Tequila & Whiskey SalesMillennials’ drinking habits are boosting the sales of hard liquor, ????as more drinkers in the US switch from beer and wine to spirits.??????Alcohol beverage giant Diageo told Marketwatch that millennials changing tastes ????are causing them to buy more tequila and whiskey, ????even at a time when young Americans are said to be drinking less.????Diageo makes a number of spirits that are popular among millenials which include, Bulleit whiskey and Casamigos.??When it comes to America's switching over to hard liquor, the Beer Institute found that drinkers chose beer a little less than 50% of the time which is down from around 60% in the 90s. That’s according to the Wall Street journal.????Diageo’s chief executive Ivan Menezes told Marketwatch that in general, “per capita spending is down, but the shift to spirits and premium brands is strong, which [is] really positive for us.”??????However the change in drinking habits isn’t benefiting all hard liquor.
