CHANDIGARH: A 35-year-old man fell from the third floor of his house under mysterious circumstances and died in Sector 29 on Wednesday night.
Sushil Mishra, a cameraman with a Punjabi news channel, had gone to the rooftop after dinner. “He was talking on phone when he fell from the third floor to the first floor of an adjoining house around midnight. On hearing the loud thud, neighbours rushed to the spot and found Sushil in a pool of blood,” said a cop.
As neighbours called up the police, a PCR van reached the spot and took Sushil to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead.
On being informed, Industrial Area Phase I police station SHO Z P Khan, along with a team of forensic experts, visited the crime scene and collected samples.
Police said the third floor of Sushil’s house had no boundary wall. Ruling out any foul play, police said it seemed Sushil tripped due to darkness. The exact cause of death would be known after the post-mortem, they added.
“Sushil lived with his friend on the first floor on rent. We will question his friends, too,” the cop added.
Police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC.
