With a total of 14,43,967 women voters in the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district as against the 14,17,683 male voters, women voters outnumber men in Coimbatore.
The third gender voter population continued to remain in double digit figure in all the constituencies.
District Revenue Officer and District Collector-in charge Durai Ravichandran released the final electoral rolls on Thursday. Revision of electoral rolls with January 1, 2019 was taken up on September 1, 2018 and the exercise was completed on October 31, 2018. Forms for inclusion of names, deletion, and corrections were entertained through various offices besides special camps on September 9 and 23, and October 7 and 14.
As per the final rolls released on Tuesday, Kavundampalayam remains the constituency with highest number of voters, while Valparai continues to be the constituency with less number of voters. The total number of voters in the district stood at 28,61,961 with 14,17,683 male, 14,43,967 female and 311 third gender voters.
Mettuppalayam had 1,34,997 male, 1,41,457 women and 30 third gender voters totalling to 2,76,484, while Sulur had 1,43,707 male, 1,47,711 female and 17 third gender voters totalling 2,91,435 voters. It was 2,10,995 male, 2,11,117 female and 74 third gender voters adding up to 4,22,186 voters in Kavundampalayam. It was 1,58,538 male, 1,56,235 female and 29 third gender voters adding up to 3,14,802 voters in Coimbatore North.
Thondamuthur had 1,50,250 male, 1,51,343 female and 60 third gender voters making it a total of 3,01,653.
In Coimbatore South, of the 2,42,040 total voters, it was 1,21,028 male, 1,21,025 female and 17 third gender voters, while Singanallur had 1,51,533 male, 1,52,706 female and 22 third gender voters taking the total to 3,04,261 voters. Kinathukkadavu had a total of 2,96,645 voters of which 1,46,586 were male, 1,50,025 female and 34 third gender voters adding up to 2,96,645 total voters. Pollachi had 1,04,722 male, 1,11,193 female and 14 third gender voters making the total 2,15,929 and Valparai - 95,327 male, 101,155 female, 14 third gender voters making it a constituency with 1,96,496 total voters.
TIRUPUR
Tirupur District Collector K.S. Palanisamy released the rolls in Tirupur and was received by District Revenue Officer Prasanna Ramasamy.
The district with eight Assembly constituencies had a total of 22,08,921 voters of which 11,00,060 were male, 11,08,617 were women and 244 were third gender. The voters will exercise their franchise through 2,482 polling stations.
