Rs12 lakh kept for father’s operation stolen from lawyer’s home

NAGPUR: About Rs12 lakh cash, kept by an lawyer daughter for her father’s heart operation, was stolen from their home between December 30 and January 23 in Ramdaspeth area. Nandita Tripathi, lawyer, had gone out of city when the cash kept in a bag was stolen by an unidentified thief.
Police said, Nandita, a resident of Ramdaspeth, had withdrawn Rs12 lakh from her real estate investments for her father’s heart operation. She had kept it in a bag in her bedroom. Meanwhile, Nandita’s father died following which she got busy in funeral and other rituals.
Nandita along with her brother and mother went to Goa for immersing ashes of her father. However, when she returned the bag containing cash was missing. She approached Sitabuldi police station where a case of theft has been registered. Police have also quizzed servants at her home.
