Share market update: Nifty PSU Bank index flat; OBC rises nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading higher in Friday's morning session ahead of budget.

Shares of Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 1.88 per cent), Indian Bank (up 1.51 per cent), Syndicate Bank (up 1.22 per cent) and Central Bank of India (up 0.96 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Punjab National Bank (up 0.52 per cent), Bank of India (up 0.34 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.22 per cent) too were trading with gains.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 3029.05 around 10:29 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.45 points at 10,875.40 while the BSE Sensex was up 165.13 points at 36421.82.

Among the 50 stocks in Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vedanta , YES Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland, Zee Entertainment, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, ITC, Tata Motors, Hindustan Zinc and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
