MADURAI: Tamil Nadu got more than Rs 3 lakh crore worth investment commitment during the Global Investors Meet -2019 because the state is number one when it comes to law and order, said revenue minister R B Udhayakumar here on Friday.
The minister was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of the 41st All India Criminology Conference at Madurai Kamaraj University.
Udhayakumar said that GIM turned out to be successful predominantly because the state government was maintaining law and order efficiently. He added that the other reason was the healthy electricity generation in the state.
“All the investors knew that Tamil Nadu has all the resources. But if law and order had been questionable, they wouldn’t have come here. We proved it, and we got over Rs 3 lakh crore investment promise,” he said.
