Actor Bhanupriya’s brother Gopalakrishnan registered a complaint on Thursday with the Pondy Bazaar police, alleging that a domestic help in the actor’s house had stolen gold jewellery and cash.
According to the complaint, Ms. Bhanupriya lives along Vijayaragava Road with her family, which includes her brother and mother. The family engaged a girl from Andhra Pradesh as domestic help last February. Her parents visited her once in two months. Recently, the actor’s family noticed gold jewellery and cash missing from the house. On inquiry, the girl admitted to have taken them and handed them over to her parents in the village.
The complainant said the girl’s mother visited their house and admitted that she had the jewels in her possession.
She left for the village, leaving her daughter here, after promising to bring back the stolen articles and cash.
There, she preferred a complaint with the Samalkot police, alleging that the girl was being harassed at the actor’s residence.
On January 25, the Andhra Police arrived in the city and took the girl from the actor’s residence to a Special Home in Kellys.
Under these circumstances, Ms. Bhanupriya’s brother lodged the complaint seeking police help to recover the 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery, ₹1 lakh, an iPad, camera and watches.
