Absa Premiership January transfer window - all the major moves

Cape Town - A wrap up of all the leading transfers in January in South Africa's top-flight after the window closed on Thursday.

Bidvest Wits and Chippa United were among the biggest movers and shakers during January's transfer window, with Golden Arrows the only inactive team.

AmaZulu

Bongi Ntuli made his loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns permanent in exchange for striker Emiliano Tade moving the other direction in a big-money move. Another addition is Talent Chawapiwa from Baroka FC, while Mabhuti Khenyeza has retired.

Baroka

Rodwell Chinyengetere completed a move from Zimbabwean outfit FC Platinum with Siyabonga Vilane joining from Uthongathi in the NFD. Talent Chawapiwa finalised a transfer to AmaZulu with Mpho Kgaswane being released.

Bidvest Wits

Fagrie Lakay completed a deal to bring forward a pre-contract agreement from SuperSport United. Free State Stars' Sinethemba Jantie, Phathutshedzo Nange from Black Leopards, Prince Nxumalo and Brandon Petersen both from Ajax Cape Town have all signed pre-contract deals.

Mxolisi Macuphu has gone on loan to SuperSport United as part of the Lakay transfer with Reeve Frosler joining Kaizer Chiefs on a free.

Black Leopards

Eliud Ambokile has been brought in from Mbeya City in Tanzania with Thokozani Sekotlong completing a loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns. Both Zwivhuya Matombo and Thembi Nevhulamba have left for NFD side Tshakhuma.

Bloemfontein Celtic

Lorenzo Gordinho has rejoined Kaizer Chiefs at the end of his loan deal with Roggert Nyundu joining Mbombela United on loan.

Cape Town City

Kermit Erasmus has looked to revive his career by joining from Vitoria Setubal in Portugal with Thato Mokeke joining for a second spell from Chippa United.

Ayanda Patosi has joined Iranian side Esteghlal FC in a big-money deal. Mpho Matsi and Allan Katerrega have both been loaned to Maritzburg United with Judas Moseamedi being loaned to Free State Stars.

Chippa United

William Twala has joined on a free. Bangaly Keita completed a move from Free State Stars with Gladwin Shitolo and Phetso Maphanga both joining on loan from Orlando Pirates. Donashano Malama completed a move from Nkana FC in Zambia.

Thato Mokeke, Thami Sangweni, Buyani Sali, Jabulani Shongwe, Miguel Timm, Thabo Nthethe, James Okwuosa, Nkosinathi Mthiyane, Zusakhe Sali, Xolani Maholo, Thatoyaone Kgamanyane, Lunathi Mdatyulwa, Zaphaniah Mbokoma, Kabelo Seakanyeng were all released) with Daniel Akpeyi moving to Kaizer Chiefs.

Free State Stars

Michelle Katsvairo joins from Caps United in Zimbabwe with Martin Kizza joining on a free transfer.

William Twala, Maboke Matlakala, Thabang Klaas, Cesaire Gandze were all released, with Bangaly Keita joining Chippa United. Judas Moseamedi returned to Cape Town City after a loan spell.

Golden Arrows

None

Highlands Park

Enocent Mkhabela joins on a free with Rodney Ramagalela signing a pre-contract agreement to join Polokwane City.

Kaizer Chiefs

Happy Mashiane was promoted from the academy with Daniel Akpeyi joining on deadline day from Chippa United. Reeve Frosler completed a move from Bidvest Wits while Lorenzo Gordinho returned from Bloemfontein Celtic after a loan spell.

Godfrey Walusimbi has been released with Wiseman Meyiwa being forced to retire.

Mamelodi Sundowns

Emiliano Tade joined in a big-money deal from AmaZulu. Katlego Otladisa, Toni Silva and George Lebese all completing moves away from the club.

Maritzburg United

Miguel Timm joins on a free with Mpho Matsi, Judas Moseamedi and Allan Katerrega all on loan from Cape Town City.

Orlando Pirates

Gladwin Shitolo, Phetso Maphanga have both been loaned to Chippa United. Thabiso Kutumela joined Maritzburg United with Lyle Foster completing a move to AS Monaco in France.

Polokwane City

Charlton Mashumba completed a deal from Jomo Cosmos with Bongani Manavhela being released.

SuperSport United

Mxolisi Macuphu joined on loan from Bidvest Wits, with George Lebese also joining on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Fagrie Lakay moved to Bidvest Wits.
