A singer who claims her spine and hips were crushed by automatic train doors is suing the rail service for more than $300,000.

Mae Daphne Perral, 35, claims she was injured when she became 'trapped' by the doors of a train at Central Station, Brisbane on January 20, 2017.

Ms Perral stated in a claim this month that her upper arms were initially caught by the doors before her spine and hips were hurt.

The singer said she suffered injury when she freed herself as the doors 'continued unremittingly to close upon her lower-arms, chest and hips', The Courier-Mail reported.

Ms Perral, who attempted to board the train at about 3.45pm, claims she did not hear a warning or whistle to alert her the doors were about to close.

The 35-year-old is suing $200,000 for permanent impairment, $20,487 for future medical costs and $30,000 for future domestic assistance - a total of $305,322.

Ms Perral is also claiming she was failed by Queensland Rail who she alleges did not display a duty of care.

She argues the rail service should have a system to 'identify and respond' to trapped commuters to ensure they do not experience further injury.

According to Ms Perral, Queensland Rail should be aware that passengers can arrive at the platform after a warning for closing doors.

The hearing date is yet to be set and Queensland Rail have not filed a defence.
