Golden NSX, Type R Celebrate Honda’s 50th Anniversary In Australia

Honda has been present in the Australian market since 1969 and they chose to mark 50 years of operations Down Under with a unique range of products.

From cars to bikes and even lawnmowers, they all feature a striking gold foil created and applied by Vinyl Wraps and Graphics in partnership with the Japanese automaker. The choice of color is not coincidental, as the 50th anniversary is also referred to as the golden one.

The brand’s two halo (and sportiest) models, the NSX supercar and the Civic Type R, are the cars that have been selected to receive this special treatment.

The CBR100RR Fireblade superbike, CRF450L enduro motorcycle and CRF50F Kids fun bike are also part of the collection. Moreover, Honda has went as far as including a lawnmower, the HRU19 Buffalo Premium, which is designed and assembled in Australia, and the EU22i generator that sport the same golden wrap.

“We thought about how we could celebrate our birthday, and our unique diversity in a bold and fun way. I mean, who has ever seen a golden mower or generator before?”, said the brand’s Australia Managing Director and CEO, Hiroyuki Shimizu.

No matter how nicely you’ll ask Honda, you won’t be able to buy a golden Civic Type R or NSX with black accents, nor a bike, lawnmower or generator with the striking design straight from the factory. These have all been created for celebratory and promotional purposes and are not for sale.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing these amazing golden products around the country throughout 2019, so stay tuned for more information on that”, commented Mr. Shimizu.
