Chandrapur: The police have arrested a person on charges of raping a four-year-old girl in Nagri village, 15 km from Warora police headquarters.
The accused identified as Anil Ade (35) had allegedly forced the survivor to consume liquor before forcing himself upon her.
As per reports, the victim was alone at her home on Wednesday, while her parents had gone to a farm for work. Taking advantage, neighbour Anil Ade took the girl to his house and forced the girl to drink liquor. Later, Ade raped her in intoxicated condition.
After the parents of the girl returned home in the evening, they found the girl crying. When they tried to cajole the girl, they were shocked to detect liquor smell. On inquiring, the girl narrated the incident. As it was late in the evening, the survivor's parents came to Warora on Thursday to register a complaint. Cops registered the complaint by evening after medical examination and accused Ade was arrested the same night.
The incident once again highlighted how liquor is available despite ban in the district.
