LUDHIANA: Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday issued a notice to councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu and his son Jatinderpal Singh Sunny on a petition by family members of Rinkle Khera, seeking a CBI or Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the case. The court has also asked for a fresh status report of the investigation.

In October last year, the court had issued a notice of motion to CBI, director -general of police (DGP), and others on a petition into the matter. On July 19, Jagdeep Singh (23) alias Rinkle Khera died after being allegedly assaulted by Sunny and his accomplices. The court has fixed April 23 as the next date of hearing.
