4 die as truck rams SUV on Jhansi highway
tnn | Feb 2, 2019, 00:40 ISTJhansi: As many as four persons were killed and seven others were seriously injured when a fully loaded truck rammed an SUV carrying passengers on Jhansi-Kanpur highway near Orai on Friday.
As per the details, the ill-fated SUV carrying passengers was moving on Jhansi highway towards Orai and was trying to make a turn when an overloaded truck coming from opposite direction in high speed hit the vehicle. The impact was so severe that the SUV got completely crushed and the truck overturned. Four passengers died on the spot while seven were critically injured. All the injured were admitted to district hospital from where some were referred to Kanpur and rest to Jhansi Medical College.
The deceased have been identified as Omprakash 30, Komal 14, Manvendra Singh 28 and Ravindra 40, all belonging to Jalaun district. Additional SP Jaloun SM Tiwari said that the accident took place early morning. Police reached the spot and sent all victims to Jalaun District Hospital.
