The hotel operates as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, will become part of the luxury-independent collection in 2020, following its renovation and rebranding. Plans call for the property to continue a focus on music and entertainment; it will also participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will become the largest hotel in Hilton’s Curio Collection, with more than 1,500 rooms, as well the first in Las Vegas. It also promises more than 110,000 square feet of meeting and event space. It is located just off the Strip on Paradise Road. The property will continue full-service operations as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino until early 2020, when it closes to complete the Virgin makeover. According to a Virgin Hotels spokesperson, the renovation process will last about eight months, and is slated to begin in late summer or early fall of this year. Plans call for the property to remain open through the first half of its renovation and close for the latter half.
Among the changes in store for the brand transformation are a reimagined pool area – which promises to “embody the ambience of a private island” – as well as all-new guest rooms and the debut of Commons Club, Virgin’s flagship dining and social-club venue. Also slated to open is the Shag Room, a “secret den” serving cocktails.
There are more than 65 hotels currently open in the Curio Collection, in addition to nearly 60 more in the pipeline.
