40 sovereigns of gold, Rs 70,000 in cash stolen from Tirupur home

(Representative image) TIRUPUR: Burglars broke into a house here and escaped with 40 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs 70,000 in cash.
The burglary happened in the house of K Nataraj of Ponnammal Layout on Kangeyam Road, who is a real estate broker.
Nataraj, his wife and daughter went to Thiruvidaimaruthur temple near Kumbakonam in Thajavur district on Wednesday. They returned here on Thursday night and found the door of the house broken open and valuables missing.
The Tirupur south police registered a case and began investigations.
