YES Bank appoints Ajai Kumar as interim MD & CEO
NEW DELHI: YES Bank on Thursday announced it has appointed Ajai Kumar as interim MD and CEO of the lender.
Kumar will take charge on February 1, 2019 for one month or till Ravneet Gill assumes office as MD & CEO, as the incumbent Rana Kapoor is required to step down on January 31 and Gill is expected to assume office on or before March 1, 2019.
The bank said it has got RBI’s approval for the appointment of the interim MD & CEO.
Last week, YES Bank had appointed Deutsche Bank India head Ravneet Singh Gilll as its MD & CEO.
In September, the Reserve Bank had asked Kapoor to find a replacement for himself.
Kapoor had co-founded the bank in 2004 along with his late brother-in-law Ashok Kapur, who died in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, post which his wife Madhu Kapur became the co-promoter of the bank.
Meanwhile, YES Bank promoters Rana Kapoor and Madhu Kapur have agreed to nominate one representative director each on the bank's board as part of truce under the works, the private lender said Tuesday.
