KANSAS CITY, Mo., Jan. 31, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Baum Capital Partners ("BCP"), a private investment firm that provides equity capital and strategic resources in support of dynamic companies in the lower middle market, is pleased to announce the final close of GKB Growth Equity Fund, LP (the "Fund"). Between the Fund and related co-investment vehicles, BCP and its affiliates currently manage $86.4 million in capital commitments.
"On behalf of my partners, Chris Hanson and Speros Kopitas, as well as the team of talented investment professionals at BCP, I would like to thank each of our investors for the confidence they have placed in us," said Jonathan E. Baum, Managing Partner of BCP. "We are humbled by the support of the highly respected group of family offices, successful entrepreneurs and executives, and high net-worth individuals across the United States that comprise our investor base."
As a point of emphasis, the Fund will pursue investments in lower middle-market companies with technology-enabled and service-based business models that are believed to be less sensitive to broader economic cycles, or which serve markets that exhibit persistent growth with stable and recurring demand. The Fund completed its first investment in the third calendar quarter of 2018, sponsoring the recapitalization of Goettl Air Conditioning ("Goettl") in partnership with existing management. Goettl is a leading provider of HVAC and plumbing maintenance, repair, and replacement services to residential customers across the southwestern United States.
