February is the time to be in Mumbai, thanks to the annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF). Touted as the biggest cultural street festival, KGAF is all set to celebrate two decades of art and culture, across various forms and communities including design, cinema, theatre, dance, literature and much more. The nine-day event is a treat of installations, artworks, craft exhibition, literature, culinary workshops, children’s activities, theatre, dance shows, and music performances. The year 2019 also marks 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, and the festival will pay its respects to his philosophy and contribution to the nation as well. In 2019, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival begins on February 2 and ends on February 10. The arts festival is spread across a number of locations in and around the vibrant Kala Ghoda district.
