Two die as bus hits tricycle near Manamadurai in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: Two tender coconut sellers died when a bus hit a tricycle they were travelling on near Manamadurai in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Samayadurai, 51, of Rajagambiram and his friend, Karupaiah, 51. Both were tender coconut vendors.
On Wednesday, they came to Madurai to purchase a tricycle to carry tender coconuts. After purchasing a tricycle, they were on their way back home when the accident happened. One of them was riding the tricycle while the other man sat on the carrier.
A government bus going to Ramanathapuram from Madurai hit the tricycle from behind. The duo were thrown off the tricycle. They died on the spot.
The Manamadurai town police registered a case and picked up bus driver Ananthan.
