Speeding car kills biker, pedestrian in Mumbai

KALYAN: A motorcyclist and a pedestrian were killed, while a tempo driver was injured, after a car lost control. It rammed into the bike and pedestrian, hitting a divider, and then another tempo on Wednesday evening at Khoni village, Dombivli.
Yashwant Madhvi (40), a resident of Gaiwadpada (Ambernath), and Lalji Gaud (38), from Khoni, were killed.


The car was speeding from Badlapur towards Katai on Dombivli-Badlapur pipeline road, when it hit the tempo, driven by Rahul Rai, resulting in serious injuries to him. The car driver then fled from the spot.


Residents and police rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared Madhvi brought dead, while Gaud died during treatment.


Police have registered a case of negligence causing death and rash driving against the car driver.


Poonam Jadhav, of Manpada police station, said they had some leads and will nab the accused soon.
