Baby John remembered

Sacred Heart College, Thevara, remembered one of its famous former students, the late Baby John, Revolutionary Socialist Party leader and former Kerala minister as a visionary endowed with great leadership qualities. N.K. Premachandran, MP, who spoke in glowing terms about the late political leader at a gathering at the college seminar hall remembered how in the late 1940s, John was spirited away by the college authorities when a police team came to take him into custody.

Former Maharashtra Governor Shankara Narayananinaugurated the meet to mark the 100th birth anniversary of the leader. K.V. Thomas, MP, said that the late leader was a great human being and remembered how in 1989 he had come to his home in the early hours to attend the wedding of his son. At that time, he said, he was going through a difficult phase in life and John’s presence was a matter of comfort.

Baby John’s wife Annamma John was felicitated at the event. SH College Alumni Association president Babu Joseph and RSP leader Regi Kumar were among those who spoke.
