Battle of the department stores! Target launches VERY modern new homewares range - rivalling Kmart and Big W with $4 plates, woven chairs and luxury bedding

Shoppers who are after luxury items for less have more variety than ever before. 

Target Australia has launched their new homewares collection, Field of Dreams, rivalling Kmart and Big W with chic items starting from just $4.

Items include woven chairs, velvet ottomans, ceramic glazed plates and textured cushions, with a colour palette of vibrant terracotta, calming blue and sage green.

It comes just days ahead of rival store Big W launching their 'Naturalist' collection.

Target's Field of Dreams collection will please those shoppers who are after luxury items with a low price tag.

The range features tufted and woven textures, natural linen blends, and plush velvet designs.

Those who enjoy cooking and entertaining will delight in the store's Artisan-style ceramics and glassware.

Statement items include the white Phoebe quilt cover, retailing for $49 for a queen size, woven benches costing $79, along with the beige Allegra cushion at $20.

Shoppers with a keen eye for plush velvet pieces, will enjoy the label's ottoman in raisin, retailing for $29.

Target Australia's head of design for hard goods Emma Duxbury-Thompson said the collection is 'all about reconnecting with nature and creating that beautiful cocooning feel throughout your home.'

It comes just days ahead of rival department store Big W releasing their homewares collection 'Naturalist'.

Set to launch on February 7, the collection has taken inspiration from nature and is all about living a sustainable life. 

The range includes woodland leafy designs, natural timber look furniture and velvet tones.

Key pieces include trendy lamps costing just $19, velvet and floral cushions for $15 a piece, and the Home Benton Quilt Cover set, available in all sizes for just $19.
