DMK president MK Stalin on Wednesday advised the protesting Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Organisations – Government Employees Organisations (JACTTO-GEO) members to be patient and promised that their reasonable demands would be fulfilled after the DMK returns to power in the State.

Stalin, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, appealed to the striking workers to return to duty in the interest of students and people, which they did so later. He said that the teachers and employees should understand that they cannot expect fairness and justice from Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Alleging that the CM and his ministers have demonstrated that they have no concern in holding talks with the striking JACTTO-GEO members, Stalin condemned the CM for functioning in an autocratic manner by threatening to suspend, dismiss and arrest the striking workers.
Referring to the submission of the government in the Madras High Court, categorically ruling out talks with the striking workers, Stalin said the CM was neither interested in the administration of the state nor being humane. He said that it was evident from the agitation, which has been happening since January 22, that the government lacks the maturity and experience to resolve the issue through amicable talks.
Earlier, a boy studying in Class 4 had put forth a demand to Stalin to enforce prohibition on such protests if DMK comes to power. His request drew loud applause from villagers who had gathered for the Gram Sabha meeting.
Further, Stalin sought the co-operation of the people to unseat the AIADMK government in the State and the BJP government at the Centre.
Stating that the Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu will take place simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections, the DMK chief said, “The people should get ready to unseat the AIADMK and BJP.”
He said that AIADMK is focused only on three ‘C’s: commission, corruption and collection. Moreover, he alleged that the Kodanad heist cum murder was executed at the behest of those in power and that they are scared that the CBI might get hold of pen drives containing information about their misdeeds.
Further, Stalin demanded Local Administration Minister SP Velumani to step down as the court has initiated an inquiry into corruption charges against him.
