Her five-year-old daughter Violet faces a huge milestone as she starts school this week.

But Rachael Finch admitted that the tot is more than a tad reluctant to leave her mother and kickstart her academic life.

'She's been feeling quite good some days... some days she wants to go, some days she doesn't want to go,' the 30-year-old model told 9Honey.

Rachael went on: 'But the reality of when she goes and has fun with her friends and her teachers and experiences the whole atmosphere - she's a very social kind of girl so I think she'll enjoy it and soak up as much as she can.'

While Violet is less than excited about starting school, her unusual skills already set her apart from her classmates.

The youngster is learning Russian to keep up with her father Michael Miziner's native tongue and is already fluent in the language.

'Violent is fluent in Russian and she'll be speaking Russian at her new school where they have Russian as a second language,' Rachael explained.

The brunette beauty added that she's struggling to pick up the language, but Violet and her son, Dominic, are finding it much easier.

Rachael revealed: 'Kids find it easier. They are like sponges.'

The brunette beauty married professional dancer Michael in 2013 after they met on Dancing with the Stars.

Meanwhile, Rachael is known for being very health conscious and previously admitted Violet rarely has lollies or sugar and opts for fruit, sushi or sandwiches at birthday parties.

Speaking to Stellar magazine, the model said: 'For the first two-and-a-half years of her life Violet didn't know what sugar tasted like, and she still hasn't had lollies.'

'Sometimes at birthday parties, parents don't have sandwiches or sushi or fruit,' she tells the publication. 'So before she goes, I make sure she is full of healthy food.

Rachael's fitness app, Body By Finch, is popular with several local celebrities, including Home and Away's Sam Frost.
