PATNA: The body of an unidentified youth was found hanging from a tree on the campus of Indiraprasad Girls’ Higher Secondary School at Makhdumpur village under the Digha police station area in Patna on Monday morning. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and police reached the spot and sent the body to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for postmortem.
According to police sources, the youth, in his early 20s, is suspected to have committed suicide.
Digha police station SHO Pankaj Kumar told this newspaper that passersby spotted the body hanging from the tree and informed police about it around 7.30am.
“Since the main gate of the school was locked, it is possible that the youth had scaled its boundary wall. There was no bruise on his body,” Kumar said, adding no suicide note was found from the spot.
Police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the matter is being investigated. “The deceased is not a native of the village,” Kumar said.
30-year-old robbed by criminals: Four criminals robbed one Abhishek Raj (30) of Rs1,500, a laptop and his mobile phone near Ganga Devi College under the Kankarbagh police station area in Patna on Monday. The police arrested one Rahul Kumar (20) of Ashok Nagar road number 9 and seized the car the criminals had used in the crime. Kankarbagh SHO Ravi Bhushan said Rahul had earlier been to jail in a liquor case. The incident took place around 5.30am when Abhishek was going to Ashok Nagar to meet one of his friends.
