Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Assuring employment guarantee to unemployed urban youth of the state in fields of their own choice, the Chief Minister Kamal Nath has taken a decision to implement Yuva Swabhiman Yojana.
On the occasion of Republic Day programme at the District Headquarters of Chhindwara, Kamal Nath while informing about the scheme, said that people do get employment opportunities in rural areas under the MNREGA but youth of urban areas deprived of such opportunities.
He stated that Yuva Swabhiman Yojana has been designed as people welfare scheme by linking temporary employment and skill development. Kamal Nath mentioned that future of the state lies in youth power. There is no dearth of talents in youth; there is a need to just enrich their skills.
The Chief Minister informed that the scheme will be executed soon after the approval of the cabinet.The Chief Minister further stated that the Yuva Swabhiman Yojana is being launched with an objective to make youth capable to avail benefit of employment opportunities available at national and international level.
Under the scheme, immediate temporary employment of 100 days in a year will be provided to youth in fields of their own choice. During the employment period, youth will also be imparted training and skills in fields of their own choice.
Promises of manifesto to be fulfilled
The Chief Minister Kamal Nath asserted that Yuva Swabhiman Yojana is a major step in the direction to fulfil promise of right to employment to youth, made by the state government in its manifesto.
Proper training will be given to youth by the state government to get themselves absorbed in jobs of their own choice by linking them with modern techniques. Kamal Nath said that the state government will work with firm determination to make the youth capable in the field of self employment.
Registration to start from Feb 10
In order to ensure immediate implementation of the scheme, registration work for urban unemployed youth is being started in urban bodies from February 10, 2019. Skill development training will also be given in the month of February itself to the registered youth in fields of their own choice.
Urban Bodies to become implementation agency
Responsibility for implementation of Yuva Swabhiman Yojana is being entrusted to the urban bodies. All such government departments under which construction and service works are being carried out or approved for the concerned urban areas will be linked with the scheme by the Urban bodies.
