Ujjain: A two-week training session for scholars on ‘Capacity Building for Research Scholars of Social Science’ was inaugurated on Monday at Madhya Pradesh Institute of Social Science Research (MPISSR). The event being jointly organised by Indian Social Science Research Council and Ministry of Human Resources and Development will continue till February 8.
Vaishnav Vidyapeeth vice-chancellor Prof Upendra Dhar was the chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he spoke about downtrend of research in India in comparison to significant rise in western and Asian countries. Quality research needs consistency, productivity and commitment. Its aim should be in consonance with the need of the nation, he said.
MPISSR director Dr Yatindra Singh Sisodiya asserted that students would get important insights into research and development in next two weeks. Experts of social science from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are participating in the workshop. Dr Tapas Dalpati anchored the programme and offered gratitude towards the members.
