GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority on Monday decided to sponsor the education of eight poor children, whose parents are construction workers in its area.

According to Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, GNIDA, the children—five girls and three boys—were spotted during the Republic Day function on January 26.

“The Authority officials approached them and others were participating in the programme. They spotted these poor children looking at them from a distance. The officials called them to join the programme. We found that their parents worked at construction sites and lived on rented accommodation in the neighbourhood,” he said.
