MYSURU: Two girls — both children of teachers from Mysuru district — have been selected for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. He will interact with students from across the country.
Chetana Suresh Malangi, a student from the city, and Rakshitha G from HD Kote, a taluk headquarter in the district, have been selected for the event. Rakshitha, daughter of teachers Govindaraja MM and Prameela, is a class 9 student of Adarsha School. She left by train from Bengaluru to New Delhi on January 25. Govindaraja said, “It was unexpected. She is good at public speaking and other activities. She applied through her school."
Dream come true
Chetana Suresh Malangi, a second-year student of JSS College of Pharmacy here, said it’s a dream come true. “There was an online test. The first task was to write a catchy caption for an image and the second was to write a 500-word essay on my success mantra. My selection was confirmed on January 25," she said, adding, "I’m a big fan of the Prime Minister. I hope I’ll get a chance to ask a question.”
Chetana’s father Suresh Malangi is the headmaster of a government school in Ittigegudu and her mother is also a teacher. Suresh, a resident of Raghavendra Nagar here, said it’s a special moment for the family.
