Three get 3-year jail term for forging land documents

Coimbatore: Three men were sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment by the judicial magistrate court-III here on Tuesday for forging a land document and selling the property for Rs 4 lakh in 2008.

T Rajan, of Appusamy Layout at Red Fields in Race Course, owned a site at Maha Ganapathi Nagar in Vellalore. He pledged the document of the site as collateral for a loan from a woman in 2008.


Her son S Jerald Henry Kumar alias Raja, 29, of Periyar Nagar at Puliyakulam, along with I Raja alias Wilson Raja, 42 of Submaniyapuram in Trichy and Gunasekaran, 51, of Puliyakulam, forged a document for the site. Wilson Raja impersonated landowner Rajan and gave the power of attorney of the land to Srinivasan for Rs 4 lakh in December 2008.


T Rajan, who came to know about this, filed a complaint. The city crime branch (CCB) of the city police registered a case against the trio and arrested them. Later, they came out on bail. Police filed a chargesheet against them and trial was held before the judicial magistrate court-III. tnn
