Harley-Davidson’s Motorcycle Sales Fall Again
Gains abroad aren’t offsetting trouble in the motorcycle maker’s home market
Harley-Davidson Inc. said sales of its motorcycles fell again last year, raising the stakes for a fleet of new models meant to revive demand in the company’s core U.S. market.
Milwaukee-based Harley expects to ship between 217,000 and 222,000 motorcycles this year, another decline from the 229,000 Hogs shipped world-wide in 2018. That 6% drop from a year earlier was led by a 10% decline in sales in the U.S., the fourth consecutive decline in Harley’s biggest market.
