Mumbai: In deference to the wish of a 13-year-old tuberculosis (TB) patient, currently undergoing treated at the King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital, Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor will meet her on Tuesday, as per the online crowdfunding site Ketto.org. According to a doctor, the disease has affected the liver of the teenager, for which she needs immediate surgery. In the midst of this life-threatening situation, the girl expressed a desire to meet her favourite actor Shraddha Kapoor.
The teenager said, “I loved Shraddha’s role in Ek Villain, where she was also suffering from a terminally-ill disease, but she was happy. She is also a very good dancer and I too love dancing. It would be the happiest day of my life if she comes to meet me.”
Surgery for the Santacruz resident could cost around `30 lakh. However, arranging the money has become a challenge for the family. “I am a taxi driver and hardly have any savings for the surgery. I am running from pillar to post to arrange the money,” said the girl’s father, Shaikh Hussain.
Meanwhile, a campaign on Ketto.org has helped them raise `30,000 so far. But when the hospital coordinators learnt about the teen’s wish to meet Shraddha Kapoor, they tweeted the actress on January 25 and Kapoor replied, “I want to meet her please. Let me know how I can.” “She is most likely to come and meet the child at the hospital on Tuesday,” said the coordinators.a
