While designer Kunal Rawal has opened a second outpost in the city, Nisha Mehta launched her first-ever flagship store. Here, we list out the four new store openings in South Mumbai that you need to know about

Whether you’re searching for a designer ensemble to wear to your best friend’s wedding or a luxurious decor to match your home’s aesthetic, these four new stores will be your one-stop shop for everything fashion. But that’s not the best part—these four designer outposts are all located in South Mumbai, making your shopping spree devoid of any major traffic delays. (If you drive a car in Mumbai, you know how important this is.) From Kunal Rawal’s lavish outpost in Kala Ghoda to Ogaan’s multi-designer offering in the same location, Vogue brings you the four new stores that deserve to be on your must-visit list.
Muse by Nisha Mehta
Muse, a luxury gifting store, is architect and designer Nisha Mehta’s first flagship store in South Mumbai’s Kemps Corner. “Muse is a mid-century modern space that is styled in a stark monochromatic look with colour accents, a signature to my architectural roots,” says Mehta. The decor takes after the 1940s heritage building in which the store is located—think big stone arched windows, ebony walls, mirrors. There are also some European influences, like the cobalt blue door nestled in a white archway, that takes inspiration from the buildings of Santorini, Greece. “We have four different collections in fine jewellery, and a collection of home products that feature everything from puja sets to dining accessories,” adds Mehta.

Kunal Rawal
After a spacious store in Juhu, designer Kunal Rawal has now expanded his territory to the other side of Mumbai with a flagship store at Kala Ghoda’s iconic Rhythm House. Designed by architect Rooshad Shroff—who also designed Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s first home in London—the space reflects Rawal’s love for vintage and modern design. Elements like grey walls, teakwood flooring, modern brass fittings, high ceilings, motorised racks, metal tables with armour line detailing and French knots can be seen throughout the store. Getting married this year? Drop by the Kala Ghoda store with your fiancé to check out Rawal’s new signature collection of festive wear.

Spread over two floors, the space houses some of country’s leading designers including Péro, Eká, Bodice, Dhruv Kapoor, Payal Khandwala, Shivan & Narresh and others, as well as accessories from Misho and Deepa Gurnani.

House of Chikankari
Singer-turned-entrepreneur, Kanika Kapoor, has launched her very own fashion label titled House of Chikankari in Fort, Mumbai. The brand aims to create the best chikankari products and, in addition to their elegant anarkalis and kurtas, offers a custom-made service to cater to your sartorial needs. “Some traditions are inherited and some are created by chance. 25 years ago, when my mother started her charity to support the local women’s craft in making chikankari, she unknowingly started a tradition that I am now hoping to take on—a tradition to uplift, illuminate and encourage the less fortunate women from my hometown, Lucknow,” says Kanika Kapoor.
